And So We Stood at the Precipice of Darkness

The war was won.

Despite the impressively large and intimidating lizards that wrought havoc to our battle lines, their riders were felled by our cunning and a fair bit of luck.

The cavemen were routed and two we took captive.

Three of their lizard mounts were our bounty.

After a round of... questioning, we learned no more than we already did. These cavemen seemed convinced that they were fighting for their freedom, despite our fox friends' contradictory accounts.

Regardless, the conflict had been brought to a screeching halt as the decisive battle was won by the Huutakans, with our aid.

Around the fire that night, the party debated whether or not to kill the captive cavemen or force them to lead us to their village that we may plunder.

I had heard quite enough. I voiced my strong distaste for needless murder. These people have lost the war and their forces have scattered to the wind. I refused to be accessory to their genocide.

And so it was, on the eve of the final leg of this quest... trust was ever so lightly fractured.

Thankfully, we did not crack under the heat of argument, and cooler heads prevailed.

Despite their protests, I parleyed allowing the captives to escape - out of view from the Huutakans - and provide small provision that they may chance survival in these accursed lands.

I would shoulder the blame, should this be found out.

They were not ecstatic, but we did not come to blows.

We march on to the Temple of Pflarr 13 strong, along with two tigers and our three new lizards.

I doubt we return with the same count.
