Shock and awe was our one clear advantage; so we struck at dawn...
The Jawalaas seem a traditional folk. But our observations revealed a undefined characteristic of hostility, at least toward outsiders.
We might have well ended up like those poor dwarves had we not landed on Tanaroa.
But we did not. And saving these unfortunate folk will prove more rewarding than simply turning our heads to run - assuming we don't all die here...
As the hunters faded deeper into the tree line, we sprinted to their two unattended boats ashore and set off for their village.
Less than halfway through, we were spotted. Patrol boats began converging our way. Most alarming, however, was their sharkman.
He swam like bolt aimed at cutting off our path to the prison hut.
Wilyur, in his resplendent wisdom managed to subdue the sharkman with some kind of mind spell.
The absolute Chadwick. We had our window.
Two veterans of this outfit, Bistek and Claritin - perhaps simply to humor me - agreed to my plan of splitting off to head straight for the prison.
Wilyur, Jigo and Florel would handle the beast.
The ranger pelted approaching patrols with a flurry of arrows, cutting down the villager's ranks, improving our odds of surviving this mess.
As we docked, I glanced back at the other team. I saw Jigo tussling with the shark man, I could hear nothing but the screams of women and children from the inside of the hut, and bodies in the water... I sure hope Florel and Wilyur are doing alright.
Immediately on approach to the doorway, a village guardsman charged me. I attempted to subdue him with a bit of shock magic.
He fried like an egg and crumpled to the floor, the scent of meat permeated the air for the rest of the encounter.
His pal was wise to drop his own armament. I rushed to free the dwarves from their captivity while Bistek and Claritin found a way to hold off the patrol's breaching attempts from that foul smelling room.
I heard screams from under the hut. They must have found success.
We rushed out as quickly as we could and jumped down to the boat one at time to make our getaway...
Pure Awesomeness!
