Bait and Switch

Life was good for our band of hooligans; the goblin turf war saw their coffers grow fat.

Their names were seemingly cleared from trial, by decree, thanks to a convenient if a tad dubious agent of the Guildpact.

They sought to tie off one final loose end — find the half-ogre responsible for that fateful bar fight that stuck them behind bars in the first place.

They followed a lead from a local wanted ad in the papers to hunt down a face they all knew too well

— I mean, as reliable as eye-witness testimonies go.

The gang took an express voltrail into Precinct Four in search of Ritjit the half-ogre.

Following a lead from a local tavern owner, they found a dilapidated housing tenement in the late evening deep in the Precinct.

The dilapidated wood and flaking paint suggest poor upkeep, and that any tenants were likely to be squatters. Easy money.

But a few steps in to the main street in front of the building, a sight froze the party where they stood...

A winged horror sat perched atop the roof of the tenement...

Dale and Schulden noped the hell off the street, and decided to find another way into the tenement.

After drawing the short straw, Dale found some loose drainage grates and snuck into the sewers underneath the building. In dark of the tunnels, he saw a man-made tunnel leading further down into an area likely not a part of the original sewers.

Opposite the maw, climbing up a service ladder led Dale straight into a secret entrance right inside the kitchen cupboard. After rallying the gang, they burst into the tenements and immediately confronted its tenants.

Several orcs, an ogre and an ettin descended upon the party. They were summarily dispatched but not without cost. The poor state of the building meant it was vulnerable to Noog's and Delorix's spells.

Before they could could investigate, the building was spilling fire into every room. As they dashed out the premises, they were left to sulk; Ritjit was not there.

Perhaps through their own ingenious and exhausted planning, the party decided to retire at an inn just around the corner from their crime to "better monitor the situation."

After breakfast, Dale and Schulden decided to go shopping for some new gear while Delorix finished up breakfast and Noog slept in. And wouldn't ya know it...

Dozens of Boros Wojeks and Swiftblades were at the scene, investigating the burnt down tenement.

Who would've thought committing a B&E, aroson and battery in the precinct of Sunhome, would attract so much attention?
